Food waste as an alternative to wood energy ? Let us explain:

𝐖𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝐑𝐂 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝟓𝟖% 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟏𝟗% 𝐨𝐟 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Rapid population growth in recent decades, combined with strong urbanization, has increased pressure on wood resources well beyond the regeneration capacity of forests.

In response to this threat, an ingenious alternative to wood energy is being considered.

✨ Biogas. ✨

A combustible gas resulting from the biodegradation of organic substances in the absence of oxygen, which can be made of pig manure, organic and vegetable waste such as food waste, fruit, vegetables, green waste and even cow dung! ♻️

Our partnership with UNDP and UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), as well as the financial support of the 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 (𝐂𝐀𝐅𝐈), aims to assist in the implementation of the sustainable consumption and wood-energy substitution program, as part of the implementation of the DRC's REDD+ strategy.

👊 MRV Energy strongly keeps supporting the cause of energy transition!
